ANME sponsors research that focuses on projects of national historical significance and educational merit. This section highlights our research priorities and describes some of our current work.
Researching Australia's schooling history
ANME aims to promote the historical study of education, and assists the publication of original research related to the rich primary sources in its collection that include policy and curriculum documents, textbooks and everyday working materials.
Through publication, ANME seeks to contribute to the full appreciation of historical research in education. ANME also seeks to support local school museums, and preserve and develop their displays and collections.
Distinguished educators
ANME recognises distinguished educators who have made an outstanding contribution to the profession and to Australian education.
Our publications
The Museum sponsors research using the collection to focus on projects of national significance for the history of education in Australia. It publishes these projects in its monograph series.
