We’re only halfway through the year, but the University of Canberra (UC) has already achieved some incredible accomplishments. Without further ado, here’s what UC can be proud of in 2024 so far!
The Good Universities Guide is Australia’s largest education institution and course comparison website. It’s the country’s leading resource for information about courses, colleges, TAFEs and universities across Australia, and an invaluable resource if you’re planning to study in Australia.
The Guide explores and assesses important factors like employment, salary, social equity, access and inclusion, learning resources, learner engagement, student support and more! This year, the Guide ranked 1,579 institutions across Australia.
Here’s a short breakdown of UC’s stellar achievements this year.
Four months after completing their course, 76% of UC graduates are employed full-time. UC prides itself on offering industry-ready education and development to ensure students can gain fulfilling employment as soon as they graduate.
Careers UC offers a range of career support initiatives like Work Integrated Learning opportunities, graduate programs, casual work, volunteering opportunities, workshops on employment skills, and personal and professional development opportunities.
UC graduates earn a median salary of $55,300, the highest salary of all universities in Canberra. This means that UC is your #1 choice if you want high earning potential and a comfortable lifestyle.
Five per cent of UC students were from low socio-economic or disadvantaged backgrounds. A comprehensive Scholarships program ensures that there are pathways to make education accessible and inclusive for students from all walks of life.
First-generation students are the first in their families to attend university. Of the UC cohort, 34% were first-generation students. First-generation students need to navigate the university experience without guidance from parents who have also completed university. UC is dedicated to supporting these students as much as possible. For example, UC College prepares students for study at UC through a variety of pathway programs and courses.
Engaging with learning is vital for academic success, and 53% of UC students felt they were engaged with learning at UC. Five stars in this category means UC scored in the top 20% nationwide for learner engagement. UC is dedicated to providing world-class education and ensuring that students are provided opportunities to engage with their coursework. Increased engagement sets up students for success throughout their studies and their future careers.
UC is proud to report that 82% of students were satisfied with the learning resources provided by UC, evidence that courses at UC are well designed and supported by high-quality learning resources to suit every subject and student.
Developing skills is an integral part of study, and 80% of UC students were satisfied with the skill development they experienced throughout their studies. Developing the necessary skills is crucial for succeeding in your chosen career, and UC is dedicated to ensuring that you’ll graduate highly skilled and job-ready.
Feeling supported is vital for students, and 74% of UC students were satisfied with the support they received from UC. UC goes above and beyond to ensure students are supported to succeed in their studies. The Study Skills program at UC is a fantastic resource that provides learning support to all students. UC is also dedicated to looking after students’ health and wellbeing through initiatives like the Student Wellbeing team.
