UC provides first-class study help and support for all students throughout your study journeys. We’ve designed our comprehensive Study Skills program to assist you at every stage of your course.
Starting study
When you start your degree at UC, the Orientation program will give you the perfect introduction to everything you need to know to succeed in your studies.
UC also offers a Study Skills for Success preparation program to provide you with the best possible start to your studies at UC and a one-week specialised English for University course to help you develop the language skills to succeed in your degree.
During your degree
While you’re studying, you can access in-person support through consultations with Academic Skills and Knowledge (ASK) Advisers and assignment support via Study Skills Advisers. UC also offers unit-specific Peer-Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS) for group study and support.
UC’s online support options include 24/7 access to Studiosity and Connect Live study help sessions and a range of online resources and interactive modules to assist you in getting the most out of your studies.

At UC, we’re dedicated to our students’ professional growth both during and after their studies. So, you’ll be able to access career support initiatives to help you achieve your career goals.
Careers UC services include workshops on employment skills like resume writing and interview techniques, volunteering opportunities, casual work, Work Integrated Learning opportunities, graduate programs and personal and professional development opportunities.
Being happy and healthy is of the utmost importance, so UC is dedicated to looking after your health and wellbeing. For any general issues or concerns, the Student Wellbeing team is here to help you find the support you need.
UC’s Medical and Counselling Centre is your first point of contact if you are unwell, injured or need emotional or psychological assistance. The clinic is open five days a week on campus and offers help and support to students. The helpful team of doctors, nurses, counsellors, psychologists and psychiatrists are here to help all UC students.
UC’s Bruce Campus is also home to specialised health services, including a compounding pharmacy, a group of private allied health practitioners and several student-led health clinics offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, support with sleep and lifestyle, and more. The University of Canberra Hospital provides further health and medical treatment, as well as Work Integrated Learning opportunities for UC students.
You’ll also find several cafes on campus serving healthy and nutritious meals, a supermarket, chemist, post office and hair and nail salon.
At UC, you can enrich your student life through various social and entertainment programs.
There are an enormous range of social, cultural, sporting, and academic clubs and societies to join. These are a great way to make friends with similar interests, deepen your study journey, and have fun!
UC often hosts market days, sporting events and competitions, and music events and festivals, so there’s always something to do during your study breaks.
