Applications: submit early!

Your first step is to make sure you submit your application before the deadline. For Semester 2, you’ll need to send in your application by the 11th of May. Missing the deadline could mean waiting until the next intake, so it’s important to get in as early as possible. Here are some tips to make sure you meet the application deadline:

• Get your documents ready: make sure you have all the required documents, including academic transcripts, English language proficiency test results, visas and academic references.
• Double check your course requirements: Check out your course’s website to review any specific entry requirements, to avoid any delays caused by missing or incorrect information.
• Submit before the deadline: Aim to submit your application at least two weeks before the deadline. This will ensure you have time to fix any unexpected issues.

If your application is accepted - congratulations! You have until the 1st of June (to start in Semester 2, 2025) to sign your acceptance declaration and pay a tuition fee deposit.

If you receive a conditional or provisional offer, you must submit their documents by the 18th of May. The UC admissions team will assess these documents and advise you if they meet the requirements.

Now, it’s time to enrol in your subjects.

Enrolment: lock in your subjects

Once your application has been accepted, the next step is enrolment. For semester 2, you can enrol starting in July. Enrolments close on the 1st of August - make sure you have chosen your subjects by this date!

Enrolment isn’t just about selecting your subjects - this is where you plan your weekly schedule and make sure you’re not overloading yourself with work. Some tips on how to set yourself up for success:

• Check your compulsory subjects: make sure you’re enrolling in all required subjects for your course before choosing any electives.
• Enrol early: this can help to secure a spot in popular subjects that may fill up quickly
• Don’t be afraid to ask for help: not sure about which subjects to choose, or how many? Reach out to your university’s academic advisors for guidance. UC provides a wide range of personalised support for international students, to help you with anything from academics to wellbeing.

You’ve enrolled - what’s next? Time to pay your course fees.

Payment: avoid late fees

Semester 2 tuition fees are due on the 1st of August. Late payments can result in penalties or even delays in starting your course, so it’s important to prioritise this deadline. Paying on time will make sure you have a smooth start to your semester.

• Plan ahead: ensure you have enough funds in your bank account well before the payment deadline to avoid any last minute panic.
• Check payment methods: Most universities offer various payment options, confirm you are able to use which one works best for you (bank transfer, online payment, direct debit).
• Set reminders: use calendar alerts or a reminder app to let yourself know of the due date, so it doesn’t slip your mind during a busy time.

Orientation week: get ready for uni life

Once you’ve got the paperwork and payment out of the way, it’s time to head to Orientation Week, or O-Week! At O-Week, you can meet other students, attend workshops, learn about campus resources and enjoy social events. At UC O-Week, you can tour the library, learn how to write a resume, play dodgeball or Disney trivia, or head out on a good old fashioned pub crawl.

Semester 2 O-Week runs from the 21st - 25th of July 2025. Heading to O-Week can make a huge difference to your confidence in navigating your first few weeks at university.

Managing deadlines might seem a bit daunting at first, and that’s okay! This might be the first time you’re living independently and making all your own choices.
