Artist Khadim Ali will be in conversation with Dr Kim Huynh talking about the UC mural and all things art! The UC mural is a co-created piece to which schools and UC community are invited to contribute (you’re invited to help too).It will be a permanent component of the campus’s artscape. This talk will explore the process of bringing the mural together and why art is so core to connection. This will be a recorded event and aired on the ABC. No registration required.
Born of Afghan Hazara parentage, Khadim Ali grew up on the Pakistan/Afghanistan border. Ali studied miniature painting at the National College of Arts, Lahore and calligraphy at Tehran University, Iran. The artist’s intricate works encompass imagery from history, politics, literature, poetry and mythology to explore contemporary events such as the civil war in Afghanistan and personal experiences of persecution, displacement and discrimination.
