Instead, we ask you to ensure you take the time to align your Resume with the Position Description requirements (which will be linked to the job you apply for). We want to understand how your skills and experience relate to the position you are applying for.
In very rare circumstances we may ask for a cover letter, but most of our roles will only ask you to apply with your Resume.

Recruitment process timeframes can vary for multiple reasons. Our advertisements will vary between 1, 2 or 4 weeks and we aim for the process to take 2 to 4 weeks after the advertised closing date for the panel to follow the process steps below.
We aim to contact all applicants with an outcome or next steps from their application within 2 to 3 weeks of the advertisement close date.
At any point in the recruitment process, applicants are welcome to contact UC Talent for an update on the recruitment process if it has exceeded the outlined timeline. Please note that all recruitment process vary to an extent, and we consider the availability of applicants and panel members which can often change the expected timelines.
Once you receive an offer of employment and have a confirmed start date, one of our Employee Experience Coordinators (EECO) will contact you to go through your onboarding process with you.
They will organise your ID card, university tour, and relocation assistance, and will assist you in organising your onboarding training and experience.
We have five faculties at UC and each faculty manages their own sessional and casual talent pool. You can apply to each faculty separately by submitting an expression of interest for each one.

We encourage all applicants to tailor their resume to align to the role they have applied for. Realistically for those with a number of years of experience, it can be hard to include all of your skills and achievements on a few pages. This is where reviewing the position description to ensure you have highlighted and included your most suited skills to the role can stand you apart from other applicants.
Utilise a chronological format for your CV, emphasising detailed information from the past ten years of your career. For experiences spanning ten years or longer, provide only essential information. Ideally a resume should not be more than 2 – 5 pages in length. If you are an academic, consider adding your publications after the initial three pages.

Each recruitment process may vary from one another depending on the role and its requirements.
We would like to you invite you to review some of our top tips for interviewing at UC and what to expect.
Once you have submitted your application and invited to proceed to the next stage of the process, you may be invited to go through a one-way video interview first or to meet with the panel for a face to face (or online/Teams) interview.
Our interview panel are comprised of at least 3 panel member with a composition of the hiring manager, a gender balance, and a panel member outside of the direct work area. We pride ourselves on our approach to diversity of thought and providing all applicants with a fair evaluation.
Our interviews range between 30 minutes to one hour depending the role. You will be asked a mix of soft skills and technical skills.
In some cases, you may be asked to engage in an interview skills task (this could be during your interview or a task to be completed prior to your interview showcasing your skills and ability relevant to the role you have applied to). The UC Talent team will advise you prior to your interview if a task is requested to be prepared.
Be authentic, open and honest. We want to get to know you and invite an open dialogue as part of your interview.
