Special consideration at UC

If your studies have been impacted by challenging circumstances and you aren’t eligible for the Educational Access Scheme or any other admissions or pathways program, you can seek special consideration when applying to UC.

Who is special consideration for

Main

Any students who believe their academic performance has been impacted by circumstances out of their control can seek special consideration when applying to study at UC. This includes:

  • Australian Year 12 students
  • non-school leavers
  • international undergraduate applicants
  • domestic postgraduate students.

It’s available for all UC courses, whether you’re applying through the University Admissions Centre (UAC) or directly to UC. 

How do I apply

To apply for special consideration, contact our Admissions Office directly.

In your application you must supply a supporting statement outlining the circumstances out of your control that caused you educational disadvantage, along with any relevant evidence. 

How is special consideration assessed

Main

We’ll review your application and, if appropriate, may award up to a maximum of five adjustment points. These points will be added to your selection rank for any courses you’re applying for at UC.

Special consideration can help you receive an offer to study even if your selection rank doesn’t meet the minimum required for your preferred course.

Can I claim more than one alternative entry path to UC

Main

If you’ve been awarded adjustment points through another admissions program, you won’t normally be granted special consideration as well.
