THE HERO’S JOURNEY, 2020: the year that wouldn’t be ignored. When I first saw the title of the task I was immediately inspired to create a movie poster as every movie follows a hero’s journey. But what kind of movie would 2020 be? Obviously, a horror movie because the one word I would use to describe this year would be ‘Nightmare.’ I then decided to write 2020 in roman numerals to follow the style of movie series like Friday the 13th which use roman numerals to label the sequels. The Australian bushfires, the COVID-19 pandemic and the BLM movement all had an influence on my thoughts of 2020 which is why I wrote them as featured cast at the bottom of the poster. To make the movie’s killer, I took a photo of myself and created a silhouette to represent the mysterious unknown villain of the movie.
