The mirage reflects upon todays society, how ones outer exterior is acknowledged for its beauty while our perseverance is often overlooked. The vibrant colours of the Koi fish allows it to be admired as the ornamental version of the common carp. The Koi fish is a symbol of strength, unity and perseverance. Similarly the drawing depicts the projection of the societal gaze on the Koi fish ironically through the vision of a fish lens. The distorted picture, captures the haze effect of a fish lens capturing a snapshot, only allowing individuals to process its beauty, rather than its struggle to swim upstream.
