UC helped me establish a great network within the Physio community

MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, 2007

Lisa graduated from a Master of Physiotherapy in 2007 from the University of Canberra, and is currently a physiotherapist at SportsCare and Physiotherapy in Canberra.

Lisa treats a variety of patients focusing on areas such as cycling, bike fitting and pilates and appreciates that she was able to explore these interests during her Masters at UC. "It was a really supportive learning environment, with some fantastic lecturers who had extensive practical experience and they made my time at UC meaningful and memorable. UC helped me to establish a great network within the Canberra Physio community."

Campus life is a highlight for many alumni. Taking the time to relax and socialise enhanced Lisa's time at the University. "I really enjoyed the regular debriefing at the UC bar with my classmates after all our exams were done. Our Physio grad balls were also a pretty impressive event with everyone, even the lecturers getting out on the dance floor," Lisa recalls.

Lisa and her family have a long tradition at UC, with her whole family being alumni. "Both my parents, my two brothers and two sisters in law, my sister and brother in law, myself and my husband are all UC graduates."

Even while working as a physiotherapist in Canberra, Lisa continues to further her studies in the area of Sports Physiotherapy through distance learning in Victoria. "You should never stop learning because we can never know everything," is her advice for current students and other graduates. "Take every opportunity that comes your way, as you never know where it might lead."
