Cancer rehabilitation programThe program investigates the effect of exercise on cancer patients and those living post-cancer. Exercise classes tailored for the individual have been held for cancer survivors people going through cancer treatment and people living post-treatment seeking to improve their strength and fitness.Dr Kellie Toohey
Parkinson’s ResearchThe student led Neurological Clinic is focussed on ensuring evidence based practice this includes conducting research in the clinic. Current research projects in the clinic include investigating home-based and centre-based physiotherapy and how exercise self-management may assist people with Parkinson’s disease. There are also projects involving the measurement of muscle strength and understanding the support needs for people with younger onset Parkinson’s disease. The research in the clinic is completed in collaboration with experts in their fields from the local community, including Canberra Health Services, as well as nationally with the University of Sydney.Allyson Flynn
