What is Interaction Design (IxD)?

Interaction Design (IxD), also known as User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), is the art of creating interactive digital experiences that are user-friendly and engaging. From websites, apps to mobile devices and home appliances, it brings together creativity and functionality.

UC’s Bachelor of Design (IxD) graduates may find themselves in any of the following positions:

  • Designer
  • Graphic designer
  • Interaction designer
  • UX (User Experience) designer
  • UI (User Interface) designer
  • UI Artist
  • Digital designer
  • Usability researcher
  • Information architect
  • Content strategist
  • Web designer/developer
  • Web/mobile designer

To be eligible for this course, applicants must have:

  • Year 12 ATAR of 60+
  • Other Australian Qualification
  • Work experience, or
  • Overseas qualification

As an alternative entry option, you can apply for a Bachelor of Design with a portfolio submission showcasing your best creative work.

Study your course with reduced fees.

A course with Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) means the Australian Government has subsidised a portion of your degree, reducing the total balance you are required to pay (known as the student contribution amount).

The CSP amount is determined by the course you are undertaking and the industry you'll be working in after graduation.

Dr Raghu Gudur

Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Arts and Design

Dr. Gudur Raghavendra Reddy (Raghu) is an accomplished designer who brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to UC’s Faculty of Arts and Design. 

Passionate about user-friendly, accessible and innovative technology, Raghu is extensively published and has won numerous awards, including an International Federation for Information Processing Accessibility Award. Raghu hopes to inspire future designers to champion diversity and inclusivity, helping students build a portfolio that showcases their interactive design skills.
