At UC, the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and the local community is a priority for us. Our Bruce campus is home to a host of health and wellbeing facilities, from our modern Medical and Counselling Centre to our on-campus Health Hub and Faculty of Health student-led clinics.

Whether you need medical attention for an injury or illness, or counselling services from a qualified psychologist, you can access all the care you need directly on campus.

If you’re feeling unwell or need to see a doctor for any medical issues, you can make an appointment at our Medical and Counselling Centre. It’s open five days a week and offers care and advice on all general health needs. Our doctors and nurses can also provide the medical assessments, screenings and vaccinations needed to get you ready for any placements you’ll have during your studies.

If you’re going through a difficult or emotionally challenging time and would like to speak with a professional, our qualified centre counsellors, psychologists and psychiatrists can help. Appointments are free, confidential and available without referral from doctors. They can help you work through issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, motivation and grief.

They also provide coaching to help increase wellbeing, enhance personal strengths, improve academic performance and achieve personal goals.

Our Bruce campus is home to a host of other medical facilities and services as well, such as:

  • a collection of specialised student-led health clinics covering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sleep and lifestyle and more
  • a group of private allied health practitioners covering medical imagery, pathology, cancer care, radiology and more
  • a compounding pharmacy providing healthcare products and services to students, staff and the local community
  • the University of Canberra Hospital – a purpose-built facility for aged care, mental health and rehabilitation services that combines medical care with Work Integrated Learning opportunities for our students.
