23 October 2019: Once you join the University of Canberra community, you belong for life.
The biennial Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA) has grown from the University’s desire to celebrate its people, in recognition of the alumni who go above and beyond in contributing to and building their communities.
The University of Canberra Distinguished Alumni honour roll dates back to 2001, when the awards were held as part of the celebrations of 30 years of teaching at the Bruce campus.
The awards have been held biennially since 2011, with nominations open to alumni of the University and its predecessor, the Canberra College of Advanced Education.
On Saturday 26 October 2019, the proud tradition will continue, with this year’s awards ceremony at a black-tie gala dinner at the iconic Arboretum.
The DAA awards will see some of Canberra’s best gather to celebrate 17 individual alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their field or community – from social work to science to sports, these are innovators, influencers and world-changers.
