Official launch of new campus marks UC’s expansion into North West Sydney

The University of Canberra’s globally respected Bachelor of Nursing course is now being delivered at University of Canberra Sydney Hills (UCSH) in partnership with Education Centre of Australia (ECA).

The University’s expansion into North West Sydney was marked with an official opening at the new campus, where Vice-Chancellor Professor Paddy Nixon emphasised the importance of connecting with new regions.

“UC has a clear connection to Canberra. We also place important emphasis on our global and regional reach and presence, illustrated in part by our partnership with ECA, in order to reimagine our education offerings and meet the educational demands of Australia’s future workforce,” Professor Nixon said.

“Our industry partnerships with local and regional clinical placement facilities will provide UC Sydney Hills students with expert placement experiences, setting them up for a successful future in the local healthcare workforce.”

ECA CEO Rupesh K. Singh said the partnership between the Centre and the University was aimed at delivering world-class education focusing on nursing, for both local and international students.

“The investment we are making in The Hills will create jobs and help alleviate some of the skills shortages locally and regionally. This is the just the beginning of a significant operation and we are very grateful for the support of the University, The Hills Shire Council and partner healthcare providers,” Mr Singh said.
