Sharing Stories … keeping the love of literacy alive

9 October 2018: The National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature (NCACL) and University of Canberra will be hosting the first-of-its-kind symposium on the Art and Science of Translating and Sharing Australian Children’s Stories Worldwide.

The symposium forms part of the NCACL Sharing Stories series and guest speakers will shed light on the need to translate and share children’s stories around the world.

“Sharing Stories is a celebration of Australian children’s literature and universal stories through translations and the creative arts,” said Dr Belle Alderman AM, Emeritus Professor of Children's Literature.

Symposium speakers include highly acclaimed authors and illustrators Libby Gleeson and, Freya Blackwood along with Matthew Callaghan, translator, and Angela Namoi, rights and international sales.

The NCACL is a not-for-profit body that collects, preserves and shares the works of Australia’s children’s book writers and illustrators.
