UC to continue collaboration with the Brumbies

24 Sptember 2015: The Brumbies have informed the University of Canberra of an assessment being conducted by the Australian Federal Police on the outcomes of an independent review in relation to the sale of the Brumbies' former headquarters.

University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Parker said that he was grateful to the Brumbies for letting the University know.

Whilst sorry to hear about these developments, Professor Parker does not believe that they will affect the strong and growing academic and research relationship with the Brumbies.

This collaboration has seen the creation of scholarships for high-performing young rugby players to study an undergraduate degree at the University, as well as honours students doing internships with the Brumbies' coaching and performance analysis teams, resulting in employment both in Australia and internationally.

Some of our researchers are also working together with Brumbies players to test accurately for concussion to ensure the protection of their long-term health.

The University will not be making any further statement at this stage.
