Biography

Sally is the primary and early childhood ITE Program Director and a long-standing member of the Affiliated Schools Liaison Team at the University of Canberra. Sally has worked in the education sector for over 30 years. Starting out as a Secondary English and Biology teacher in Melbourne, her educational leadership experience commenced early in her career with roles in curriculum development, student management and wellbeing. Sally led a cluster of schools through the Innovations and Excellence project before becoming a Principal. She spent five years working as a consultant in the Abu Dhabi Education Reform project in the United Arab Emirates where she won the Hamdan Award for Distinguished Management and attained UK Lead Practitioner Accreditation. Sally chaired the Bendigo Principals’ Network for four years before moving to the University of Canberra to take up a doctoral Lectureship as a member of the Affiliated Schools Team.

Sally is currently researching how system-wide enactment of Professional Learning Community initiatives can impact school improvement.
