Endless Opportunities with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet

Jacob Wilson completed his internship at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in 2020, as part of his Bachelor of Communication and Media (Corporate and Public Communication).

“Honestly, it is the most rewarding and exciting opportunity. I gained so much insight and understanding of the communications/government industries”. He said.

The internship allowed Jason to gain valuable and practical experience in the Australian Public Service. He had the opportunity to work on a broad range of tasks, including developing policy advice and analysis for the Prime Minister and other Ministers.

“If someone told me three years ago I would be working at PM&C, I would have laughed; I barely scraped through year 12,” he said.

Jacob believes UC provided a pathway that contributed to his personal and academic journey, and he achieved things he’d never even thought about. He offered his thanks to the communication teachers and lecturers that helped him along the way.  He hopes to continue his career in communications within government, especially with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
