The senior years of schooling can be a difficult and stressful time for young people, as they navigate the wealth of courses and pathways available to them. To support and guide the young person in your care, try asking some open-ended questions, this will encourage them to consider their passions, strengths and career goals:

  • What do you want to try first when you finish school?
  • What are you good at?
  • What jobs, careers or industries appeal to you?
  • Do you know what’s on offer? It’s not just about the courses UC offers – what about connection to industry, support and wellbeing, Work Integrated Learning, studying abroad, and the culture on campus.

Whether you’re currently at school, about to begin your university journey for the first time, or returning after a long break, we can help you find your fit.

UC Open Day Fest is also a great opportunity for our alumni to re-connect and see how things have changed since you graduated!

If you are in Year 11 or 12 and feeling unsure about what comes next, you're not alone. Choosing a university and the right degree can be overwhelming, but attending UC Open Day Fest is the perfect place to start.

Take a campus tour, chat with teachers and get a feel for our campus and facilities. You'll also get to try hands-on experiences that could make you consider new study options!

Even if you are in Year 10, it's worth coming along (and c'mon... we'll have free donuts!). Getting a head start can help you feel more confident and give you time to think about what you want to do after school.

Ask questions, look around and get inspired.

UC Open Day Fest gives you the opportunity to meet current students, ask questions to academic faculty staff about courses and pathways, and engage with our student support services.

It’s also a great way to tour our facilities such as our laboratories which provide specialist teaching spaces in science, health, arts and design, as well as collaborative spaces for student living and learning.

There are plenty of ways to get to our Bruce Campus.

If you are driving we recommend planning your journey here: canberra.edu.au/maps
